About Modern Women's Foundation
Since its formal inception in 1987, Modern Women’s Foundation, hereinafter called the Foundation, now enters its 22nd year of operation. Its primary objective at the very onset was to assist modern women in seeking a balancing the role in the fast changing society where modern and traditional value co-exists. In the process, we have discovered that the basic personal safety of women has never had the attention it deserves. We believe this is the major cause that the interest of women cannot be fully developed. Any upgrade of women’s interest must start from the thoughts of fundamental human rights of personal safety.
Consequently, as early as in 1988, we set up a women protection center, offering woman victims professional information and service in legal, medical service that includes report to the authority and court escort. Over the years, we continue to care about our women friends who are victims of violence.
We further translate our care into action by developing our organization into a professional social work establishment. Our daily routines range from direct individual case consultation and assistance to promotion of legal remedies. We continue to fight for an equal, safe and dignified social environment for women who are victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse or sexual harassment.
We aggressively promote various forward-looking systems and service projects. In this regard, we have enlisted support from experts, lawyers and scholars to form Litigation Assistance Committee for Women Victims of Violence, which turns out to be the guidance for promotion of various businesses of the Foundation. |
